As I mentioned before, I have a love affair with magazines since moving abroad. The first thing I do when I land in London or the US, is buy newspapers and magazines and a can of Diet Coke. Indulgent and slightly questionable.
The one magazine that is readily available here is Hello! I knew Kim Kardashian was engaged, but I had no idea she was married. Again, news takes a long time to come to the Southern tip of Africa. How fast was that engagement?
I like that she had her bridesmaids in white, but I think she was a little mean with that style of dress, especially since she had some curvy girls. Mermaid is not easy to pull off when you have hips. I don’t know if this is the right foot she wants to get off to with her Sister in Law (far left).
How small is that bouquet? I have devoured waffle cones bigger than that. It actually looks a bit like a waffle cone.
I am going to tell you a secret. Big purses make you look smaller. Fact. The same rule applies to wedding bouquets and spouses. I create an optical illusion on a daily basis by toting around a Longchamp, Chanel Jumbo, or Birkin and standing next to my 6’7 husband.
Did you know Kris Humphries is half African American? When I saw his parents (pictured above), I was in complete shock. This blew my mind. I had no idea. I am really bad at knowing people’s race. I just see people as people.
This was shocker #2 of the evening. Avril and Brody? I’m unsure, but I think I like this. She seems like a nice girl and I feel bad some a 26 year old that already has one divorce under her belt. That could not of been easy.
So this is the infamous cake? This was not a surprise because I got wind of this ridiculousness from this girl. I may be mistaken, but I though black icing was a no-no? What would black icing taste like? licorice? That icing would be my arch-nemesis.
I would like a testimony of someone who ate the cake. What does a $10K cake taste like?
What did you think of the wedding?
It looked like a lot of fun, but I expected to be impressed. The decor seemed over the top, but not particularly stylish IMHO. It seems like it was all about the money and media attention.
That being said, I am happy for her and I wish them the best.
What expensive sweet treat have you had that is actually worth the money?
There is a coconut cake at Planter’s Inn in Charleston that is off the charts. Its pretty pricey ( I think like $11 dollars a slice), but worth every penny.
